Obituary of Orvis S. Hartman

Orvis S. Hartman of Honesdale, Pa passed away at home on July 30, 2014. Born on February 20, 1934 in Torrey, Pa. He was the son of the late Jacob Earl and Elsie Pearl Hartman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Vannatta Hartman. Orvis was a retired dairy farmer and an Alaska Stoker Store Sales Rep. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping trips, and several cross country trips. He is survived by three daughters; Gail Hartman and her fiance Ron Dice, Jo Avery and her husband Bruce, Judy Collins and her husband Grant; a son, Orvis Hartman Jr and his wife Jayme; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Orvis was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Lori, a sister, Marion, and a brother, Charles. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Calkins Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Jones officiating. Friends can visit at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.Interment will follow in the Smith Hill Cemetery.
