June Grace Iloff Perry, 89, died peacefully at Wayne Memorial Hospital on September 2, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Mervin and Grace Smith Iloff. June was a graduate of Honesdale High School and Wayne Commercial School. She recently enjoyed her 70th class reunion, the class of 1934. June was one of 14 classmates in attendance. A lifelong Honesdale resident June wore many hats in her life. She worked at the Bell Telephone as an operator, Sears Roebuck Credit Manager, and helped raise funds for building the Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was best remembered as a kindergarten teacher at the Central United Methodist Church from 1959 through the 70's. June also worked for many years in the hospital's kitchen and cafeteria and volunteered at the senior center. June was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Always seen smiling and making a joke or funny face. She loved to make people around her happy with her quick wit and zest for life. She loved crocheting, painting, and sports. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Keith (Marcia) Gager of Honesdale; granddaughter, Mrs. Bryan (Jessica) Jacobsen; great grandson, Dakota Jacobsen; great granddaughter, Mikailyn Jacobsen all of Salisbury, NC; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Perry of Honesdale; a sister, Mrs. William (Dolores) Height of Mill Rift, Pa ; a brother Mervin Iloff of Prompton, Pa. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the social room at the Central United Methodist Church, Honesdale. Interment will be in the Glen Dyberry Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Diabetes Research or Dessin Animal Shelter.
