Obituary of Robert B. Irwin, Jr.

Robert B. Irwin Jr., 75, Honesdale, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol J. (Atkinson) Irwin. He was born on January 17, 1939 in Honesdale, PA. He was the son of the late Robert and Alice Irwin. A United States Marine Corps veteran, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and reliving his exciting, yet sometimes hard, life through the art of storytelling. He was preceded in death by his third child, Geraldine "Jodi" Irwin, by his brother, Grant, and by two sisters, Linda and Caroline. He is survived by his children: son: Dana Irwin and his spouse Michael Freeman, Philadelphia, PA; daughter: Suzanne "Suzi" Irwin; and son: Eric Irwin and his spouse Sibyl, Honesdale, PA. He is survived by three grandchildren: Kailyn Lowry and her spouse Jose "Javi" Marroquin, Katie Irwin, and Ryan Irwin; as well as by two great grandchildren: Isaac and Lincoln. He is also survived by his brother: David and his wife Dona, Honesdale, PA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
