Ronald A. Bishop, 52 of Honesdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 18, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Born in Honesdale, PA on October 12, 1961, Ron was the son of the late William Bishop and Leona (Wilcox) Bishop. Ron is survived by his son, Christopher Bishop of Lancaster, PA. A life-long resident of Wayne County, Ron attended Honesdale High School. Prior to his illness, Ron was employed by Asplundh Tree Service. Ron was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt and fish. He had a special passion for deep sea fishing off the shore of New Jersey. Ron will be remembered as devoted and loving friend who was always available to lend a hand. In addition to his son, Ron is survived by his companion, Laurie Knapp of Honesdale, brothers: William (Roger) Bishop and his wife Janet of Honesdale, Gary Bishop and his wife Linda of Coppers Cove, TX, and Kevin Bishop and his wife Kelly of Honesdale, sisters: Bonnie Snyder and her companion Larry Austin of Loganton, PA and Debra Southerton and her husband John of Honesdale and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service with Pastor Robert Kazinski officiating will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the East Dyberry Cemetery, Dyberry, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa 18431
