Shirley G. Bonham, 70, of Mount Pleasant Township, died Monday afternoon, October 13, 2014 at home, with her family at her side after an extended illness. Born October 25, 1943 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Alvena Baldwin Bonham. Shirley graduated from Pleasant Mount High School in 1961; she went on to study at the Wayne Commercial School following graduation. Shirley worked for the Honesdale National Bank for over 41 years before she recently retired from the bookkeeping department. She was a member of the Whites Valley United Methodist Church, and the Order of the Easter Star, Laurel Chapter #67 of Waymart. Shirley was a hard worker and enjoyed helping on the family farm with the barn-work, gardening and haying. Shirley is survived by brothers and sisters: Arthur Bonham and his wife Lisa of Honesdale, Kenneth Bonham of Pleasant Mount, Iora D. Bonham of Binghamton, New York, Helen Carlin and her husband Dexter of York, Pennsylvania, and Dwight Bonham and his wife Louise of Pleasant Mount; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family of relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Bonham; and a sister, Alvena Leet. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Lloyd Canfield officiating. Friends may visit on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale on Friday. . .
