Jeanne E. Bigart, of Honesdale passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Charles L. Bigart, Jr. who died October 5, 1985. Jeanne was born January 21, 1923 in Cherry Ridge. She is the daughter of the late Howard C. and Mary (Spettigue) Roe. She graduated from Honesdale High School Class of 1941 and Wayne Commercial School. Jeanne started working in 1942 at the office of the Lummus Company in Honesdale as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk. She worked until 1953 and retired to take care of family. She is survived by four children, John Bigart and his wife Donna, Brenda Myers and her husband Michael, Beth Pykus and her husband Ron, Ron Bigart and his wife Deborah; six grandchildren, Kylie Bigart, Lynn Bingaman, Charles and Samantha Pykus, Chad Bigart and his wife Jackie, and Sarah Bigart; three great grandchildren, Elise, Griffin Bingaman, and Sullivan Bigart due in December; a sister, Grace Dunn of Honesdale; a sister in law, Alta Myers of Periora, IL and a brother in law, E.R. Bigart(Bunk); several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Shuman. The family would like to thank the Heartland Hospice Nurses, Judy Longo, Nurse Ann, Sue, Dr. Henderson, and Judy Heller. In addition we would also like to thank her caregivers Bernnie O'Connell, Debbie Avery, and DonnaLaniewski for the wonderful care and love that the ladies gave her in her final days. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the White Mills Methodist Church, White Mills, Pa with Pastor Marge Allgeier officiating. Interment will be in the Darling Cemetery, Cherry Ridge.
