Elinor Wilhelmina Hunt 97' of cherry Ridge Pa. Died on Jan 23, 2015 in Waymart Pa Born on December 2, 1917 in Plainfield N.J. To the late John and Erna Gaughan. In her teens the Family moved to Belrose N.Y. Where she graduated from Jamaica High School in 1935. She went to secretary school in New York City, and ended up working New York Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Elinor met her husband Marvin Hunt At a USO club in N.Y.C. In 1943, they married in January of 1944. After Marvin returned from the Navy they resided in Belrose N.Y. Where Marvin worked for Bell Telephone Co, and they started there family. The family than left N.Y. In 1950 and moved to Honesdale, Pa. Elinor and Marvin built and operated Hunts Motel and trailer Park On Rt 6 in Indian Orchard for more than 30 years. Elinor also operated A small convince store from the motel office. At the time this was the only Place you could pick up the local paper or some milk between honesdale and Hawley. After they sold the Motel in 1983 they moved to Cherry Ridge, where Elinor lived Independently Until a month before her death. Elinor loved antiqueing going to garage Sales, reading, crossword puzzles. One of her greatest memory's was a month long bicycle Trip she took threw New England with her girlfriends in the early 1940's Elinor ways preceded in death by a brother John Gaughan, and her Daughter, Susan Catherine Hunt. She is survived by son Roger and wife Patricia, Honesdale, Glenn Hunt and wife Cathy Pottstown Pa. Daughter Judy and husband James Shannon, Altoona Pa. Six grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Elinor chose not to have a funeral, but the family will have a memorial service At a time to be determined. Her ashes will be spread around special places she had wanted to see in her life. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. ,. .
