Orvis "Buster" Whitmore, 95, of Abrahamsville died Friday morning, April 17, 2015 at Bethany Village. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Korth Whitmore, also a resident at Bethany Village. . Buster was born on August 17, 1919 in Callicoon, New York. He was the son of the late Elmer A. and Olive M. Brush Whitmore. He was a dairy farmer and owner and operator of Sunnybrook Nursery in Abrahamsville. Buster loved to entertain. He especially enjoyed playing his fiddle and yodeling. Buster and Mildred spent their winters in Florida and enjoyed the company of many friends there where he also played in a country band. He was a member of the Abrahamsville United Methodist Church. He is also survived by four daughters: Kaye Freudenberger and her husband James of Coyle, Oklahoma, June Chesser and her husband Don of Holdenville, Oklahoma, Betty Ann Sutliff and her husband John of Abrahamsville, and Mary Ellen Iacovino and her husband Frank of Honesdale; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street Honesdale, PA 18431 with the Rev. Jean Blackie officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Buster's memory to the Abrahamsville United Methodist Church, Damascus, PA 18415. Interment will be private in the Hillside Cemetery, Damascus, PA. .
