Phyllis Jean Henderson, originally from North Plainfield , NJ died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Bethany Village . She was married to the late G. Norman Henderson who died in 1989. Phyllis was born October 31, 1920, in Algonac , Michigan . She graduated from Lincoln High School in June of 1938 then went on to attend Junior College. She worked as a stenographer in the Detroit Edison Company where she met her late husband G. Norman Henderson. She moved to Pacific Grove , California in the 1970's with her husband Norman. She then moved to the Honesdale area in 2011 and resided at Bethany Village Senior Living. Phyllis was a member of the Plainfield Congregational Church when she resided in New Jersey with her family. Phyllis loved good food and good friends, enjoying reading and being with family, and had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. She was often heard whistling a harmonious tune and eating Hershey's chocolate. She is survived by her son, Donald Warren Henderson of Hawley; two grandchildren, Abby Pittenger and her husband Walter of Greeley and Daniel Henderson of Lake Worth, Florida; a great grandson Wyatt Pittenger of Greeley. She is the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Avers) Eby She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Eby. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
