Obituary of Brett P. Brawdy

Brett Brawdy, 50, of Honesdale passed away on Thursday December 3, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a valiant battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife, the former Teri Kennedy. Born November 20, 1965 in White Plains, New York, he was the son of the late Paul Brawdy and Mary Lou (Brawdy) Varese. Brett was a faithful member of The Seelyville Fire Department. He was a passionate advocate for childhood cancer awareness and the "Outdoor Dream Foundation" which helps children with terminal illnesses. He is also survived by three children: Justin Brawdy, Heather Brawdy and Amanda Bitler; two grandchildren: Brayden and Kaelyn Brawdy; his step-father: Robert Varese; and four siblings: Brian Brawdy, Jan Brawdy, Barth Brawdy, and John Brawdy. Brett was also preceded in death by a son: Brandon Brawdy. Viewing will begin at 12 pm on Monday, December 7th, immediately followed by Funeral Service at 2 pm at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Pastor Sal Maiorana will be officiating. Cremation will follow and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brett's memory to The Seelyville Fire Department, 1200 Bridge Street, Seelyville, PA 18431.
