From my very first meeting with Dave, at his apartment on University Ave, I realized this is not a warm and fuzzy man. However getting to know him over the years, I realized there is a lot more to the man, than the exterior one you meet.
Dave can be so kind. I experienced this at one of the lowest points of my life. My husband, I and children were struggling financially, not that he & Genie had any more, but that he would give a financial hand when others did not even think about it. That says something of a man.
Through all his life dealing with his illnesses, he was a man that did not just sit down and do nothing. Even if others would cower under afflictions, Dave would pick up a hobby and dive head first into the hobby. Some of his accomplishments were woodworking, building ships in a bottle, the art of bonsai, not to mention his ongoing experience and knowledge of birds & dogs.
What more can be said of a man then his family, and the legacy he leaves. Genie is one of the most caring, loving woman I know and she loved and cared for Dave.
Sean is a son, that anyone would be proud of! He is a man of character, charm and Joyce wit!
So David, I say adieu, and pray that we will meet again.
