Ronald Keith Peck, 76, of Pleasant Mount went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an unexpected illness. He passed peacefully with all of his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Martha Hunt. Born in Carbondale on March 18, 1940, he was the son the late Harold and Hazel Gransbury Peck. Ronald was a graduate of Pleasant Mount High School, Class of 1958. He was proud to have been the 5th generation on the Peck Family Dairy Farm. Besides managing the family farm, he served two terms as a Mount Pleasant Township Supervisor. He served his community well as a Lifetime Member of the Belmont Fire Co., and member of the Pleasant Mount United Methodist Church. Ronald served on the Agway committee for several years. He was currently serving on the Mount Pleasant Township Planning Commission Board. Up until his untimely death, Ronald enjoyed working with his herd of beef cattle. He was also presently employed by the Forest City Regional School District in Transportation. He is also survived by four children: Pamela Cooper and her companion Ray Hendrickson, Sr. of Honesdale, Kevin Peck, Darrin Peck and his wife Arleen, and Bryan Peck and his wife Cherry, all of Pleasant Mount; 8 grandchildren: Amanda, Courtney, Mary, Dustin, Minnie, Charlotte, Stefanie, and Sara; a nephew: Carl Zigon of Browndale and his family; he was expecting his first great-grandchild in March. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Jean Zigon Erzin, and a brother who died in infancy, Mahlon Peck. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be private in Green Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Mount. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to Cold Spring Chapel or Pleasant Mount Emergency Services.
