Obituary of Louis R. Troianello

Louis R. Troianello, born March 16, 1937, Father, Grandfather, and brother, passed from this life on January 24, 2017, at the age of 79. He is survived by his loving daughter, Antoinette T. Davis, her husband Christopher, and his granddaughters Sarae and Aleah. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Christine Troianello, and three stepdaughters Heather, Jen and Lauren Smith. Mr. Troianello ( "Louie" ) was one of twelve children born to Alphonse and Antoinette Troianello and survived by brothers, John, Anthony, Robert; and sisters, Josephine Lajeunesse, Rose Lemmerman and Anna Troianello. Louie was born and raised in Madison, NJ, where he started his professional career at A. Troianello Florists. Louie also served in the United States Navy, aboard the ice-breaker U.S.S. Atka (AGB-3), and was a member of the Royal Order of the Blue Nose, having crossed both Arctic Circles during Operation Deep-Freeze II in 1956 and 1957. Much of his adult life was spent in Tyler Hill, PA, near Honesdale, PA, raising his family; and employed both at a local rope factory and a cabinet making shop. In his younger years, Louie was active in the local community, in 4-H, helping to coach youth and women's softball teams, as a member of the Cochecton Men's Club, and volunteering many years by helping "Santa Claus." Louie enjoyed his retirement years among family, and his many friends at Dutton's Place Diner in Tyler Hill. His love, friendship, and his well-known antics at the Diner will be missed by all. A celebration of remembrance will be held at the Community Center at the Damascus, PA Town Hall on February 4, 2017 from 2:00pm through 5:00pm. The Arthur A. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Louie's honor be made to the Wayne County Aging office for meals on wheels, or for energy assistance for elderly and home bound, through the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging.
