Evelyn J. Yunko, 95, Honesdale died April 16, 2017 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, Pa after an illness. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Fred Kuhns in 1976 and Ed Yunko in 1996. Born in Galilee, daughter of the late Ellis and Cassie White Terrell, she graduated from Damascus High School and attended a Nutritional Program in New York City. She was the food service director at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale for over forty years. Evelyn was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Equinunk. She taught Sunday School at the Central United Methodist Church of Honesdale for over 30 years. After retiring from the hospital she was a fulltime grandmother who dedicated her life to supporting the numerous adventures and endeavors of her grandchildren. She loved traveling, polka dancing and playing games with her family, especially Flinch and dominoes. She is survived by a son, Fred W. Kuhns; a daughter, Katherine Lutz; a brother, Edwin Terrell; a sister, Marie Crum; seven grandchildren: Michael Kuhns, , Amanda Kuhns, Jason Kuhns, Ronald Young,Angela French and husband David, Cassandra Allbee and husband David, Joshua Young and wife Ella; nine great grandchildren: Ethan, Aliah, Faith, Isaiah, Daniel, Cori-Anne, Eli, Israel, and Ashlyn; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother Allen Terrell and two grandchildren: David Kuhns and Theresa Young. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale with Rev. Lloyd Canfield officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Galilee. Friend may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
