Obituary of Louis Seig

Louis "Lou" Seig, age 85, of Honesdale, went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 17, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Hiller Seig. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion Seig in 1997.
Born October 23, 1926 in Moosic, he was the son of the late George and Nettie Cox Seig, and step-son of John Cominsky. He was the last surviving member of a family of eleven children.
Lou attended the Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He had a great love of music and trains. Lou enjoyed collecting Indians artifacts and eagles. Lou will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his son Louis Seig and his wife Gayle of Florida, a daughter, Marie Sowinski and her husband, Matt of Delaware; step-children: Donna Spencer and her husband, Roger, Sally Shiels and her husband Bob, Don Hiller and his wife, Liza, and Jim Hiller and his wife, Lori, all of the Honesdale area; grandchildren: Jeremy Seig, Jamie Barr and her husband, John, Cody Sowinski and his wife, Ramona; step-grandchildren: Jackie, John, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Butch and Ron Stark, Robert and Christine Shiels, Jess Roberts, Kris, Danny and Ryan Hiller and Heather Rowles; great-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Fred, Tom, and George; and seven sisters: Ethel, Alice, Ruth, Nettie, Louella (Lou's twin), Carolyn, and Catherine; and a step-great-grandson, Jeremy Hiller.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Edward Cameron and Rev. Robert Kazinski officiating.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, December 20 from 7 - 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment with Military Honors by the United States Navy will be Wednesday in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
