Obituary of Pearl N. Hamby

Pearl N. Hamby, 92 of, Hawley, PA, died Friday, January 6, 2012 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. She was married to the late Earl Hamby. Pearl was born in Allentown, PA; she was the daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Spangenberg Bowen. Pearl was a nurse's aide who retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Honesdale Assembly of God and the past president of Maple City Apartments. She enjoyed traveling and was able to tour to Hawaii later in life and she was fond of crosswords. She is survived by two sons, Milo Hamby and his wife Marie of Honesdale and William Hamby and his wife Dorothy of Hawley; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Bowen and a sister Zelda Fowler. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 8:00 PM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa with the Rev. Colleen Cox officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 7:00-8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Dyberry Day Camp, P.O.
