Betty J. Moyer, 81, of Towanda passed away Sunday evening, January 13, 2019 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 24 years, Raymond J. Moyer. Born March 30, 1937 in West Burlington, she was the daughter of the late John V. and Blanche (Gould) Gustin. Betty grew up working on her parents' farm in West Burlington. She often spoke of many fond memories of that life, and the father that she adored. She graduated from Troy High School and the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing. She spent the majority of her career working in the in occupational nursing field. Upon retirement from Osram Sylvania, she opened her own fabric and quilting business called "The Thread Shed." It was there she could indulge her love of sewing and quilting with her dear friends and clients. In addition to her love of all things fabric, she also was a dog enthusiast and spent some time breeding and showing Schnauzers, Pekinese and Shar-pei. She also enjoyed performing in community theatre and with her husband in the local "One More Tyme" and "Holiday Melodies" productions. She was an avid reader and also loved playing Atari and Nintendo video games. She had a strong Christian faith and was secure in her future home in heaven with Jesus Christ. Her family suspects that she is currently dancing a jig on the streets of gold. She is also survived by three children: Maribeth Low and her husband John of Wilmington, DE, Dr. David Reynolds and his wife Katherine of Honesdale, PA, and Daniel Reynolds and his wife Lisa of Ulster, PA; 6 grandchildren: Ethan and Evan Low, Bethany Reynolds Dirlam and Gustin Reynolds, India and Daniel J. Reynolds; and a sister, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Howell of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John W. Gustin and her beloved stepson Justin D. Moyer. In accordance with her wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in The Bradford County Memorial Park Cemetery Labor Day weekend 2019, with a celebration of life to follow at Mountain Lake Hotel.
