Roger D. Dillmuth 11/9/1940 - 04/29/2019 Roger David Dillmuth, loving husband and father, passed into the arms of his Lord on April 29, 2019 while surrounded by his family in Sun City Center, FL. Roger was born on November 9, 1940 in Honesdale, PA to the late Bernice (Jackson) Dillmuth and Willard C. Dillmuth. Roger, the firstborn of three, was raised in Milanville, PA with his sister Sandra and brother Doug. He graduated from Damascus High School and then, Shippensburg University with his B.S. in Business. Roger and his wife, Evelyn, of 54.5 years, raised four children, Paul, Sue, Mark, and Tim, while living in Beach Lake, PA. Roger, an entrepreneur and businessman, became the first State Farm Insurance Agent in Honesdale where he served his clients for 34 years. Feeling strongly that his community should continue to have a Christian bookstore, he bought the Salt Shaker Book and Gift Store and owned it for 25 years. Roger proudly served on the Wayne Highlands school board for 18 years and had the privilege of awarding his children with their high school diploma. Even after retiring, he remained a member of the Honesdale Rotary Club and was the longest-tenured member. While a Rotarian, he earned the Paul Harris award. Roger placed God first, family second, and then others. He is best known for his kind and generous heart. Roger enjoyed serving God through the Beach Lake United Methodist Church (BLUMC), the Salvation Army, and the Gideons. He most enjoyed spending time with his family always making sure he was home for dinner and weekly family gatherings. Roger was an optimist and truly saw the best in people. He made sure his family, friends, and clients received a yearly birthday card with his trademark signature inked in green. He will be missed dearly. Roger is survived by his wife and best friend Evelyn (nee Koons), his four children Paul (Katie Willard), Sue (Bob Miller), Mark (Kathy Crum), and Tim (Melissia Woitko), his sister Sandra, brother Douglas (Pam), nine grandchildren (Hannah, Abby, Faith, Rachel, Marisa, Brianna, Caleb, Emily, and Annie), nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
