We choose not to mourn the loss of a loved one but to celebrate the life of a daughter, sister, mother, grandparent, friend, and mentor. Although Susan's passing was unexpected, we do not wish to remember it as a somber affair. It is time to focus on the joys that she brought to others. We do this through the stories we share, remembering when she made us smile and laugh as we walked this path of life together. It is also a time to thank her for being here when we needed someone to lean on and cry with. Susan was one of those people who could find the humor in any situation and had the sensibility to get us through the toughest of times. She understood that language is a vibrant, malleable, living material and knew words have the ability to help, to heal, and to humble. Whenever needed, everyone knew she was always a phone call away. Her household was built on a foundation of integrity and character. It became a place that always believes in giving, even if you only have a little because Susan knew that no act of kindness is ever wasted. Please join us in the celebration of Susan's life and to thank her for teaching us the lessons that truly make life beautiful.
