Jean Marie Price, 82 of Honesdale, PA, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. Jean was born in Honesdale she was the daughter of the late Millard and Esther Kimble Penwarden. Jean graduated from Honesdale High School Class of 1947and went on to graduate from Wayne Commercial School. Jean worked as a court reporter for Wayne County for many years. She had been a member of the Honesdale Planning Commission from 1997 until 2005 when she retired. Jean attended the Smith Hill United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Harriet Greene Chapter of the Eastern Star. Jean was very proud of her local roots and ancestors that extended back to William Schoonover who settled in 1790 on what is now Fair Avenue. Jean is survived by a daughter Bonnie Price and son in law Marc Abromovitz of Lake Ariel; a brother, William Penwarden and his wife Dorothy of Honesdale; sister in law Ann Price of Carbondale ; brother in law Ken Price and his wife Sally of Maine; several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Donald Price who died in 2007. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 12:00 Noon in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa . Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 11:00 - 12:00 Noon.
