Obituary of Gregory Matti

Gregory "Greg" Michael Matti, age 62, of Prompton, passed away on April 14, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Greg was born in Scranton, PA to Andrew R. Matti and Hildegarde (Unger) Matti Gustave. Greg attended many races at Moc-A-Tec Raceway in Lake Ariel. When watching NASCAR, he would cheer on Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He passed his love of racing and Dale Earnhardt onto his daughter, Mindi. Whenever he was able, Greg liked to fish, ride his motorcycle and visit with friends. Greg is survived by his daughter Mindi (Eric) Rich, granddaughter Alaina Rich, step-brother Charles Kumpas (Ann Marie), sister-in-law Karen Matti. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins and his cat Toby. Greg was preceded in death by his father Andrew R. Matti, his mother Hilda Gustave, step-mother Gurtrude "Trudie" Matti, brother Andrew "Drew" Matti, step-brother Robert Kumpas, and his Aunt Anna Matti, whom he regarded as a mother. The family would like to extend a thank you to Randy Brink, who was like a brother to Greg. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
