Stephens Date of Death: February 11, 2012 ____________________________________________________________________________ Bruce C. Stephens, 82, of Honesdale, PA, died Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, after an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Raynell Stephens in 1971. Born on June 21, 1929 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Everett Holloway Stephens, Sr. and Mary Crossley Stephens. Bruce graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dairy Science. He owned and operated Stephens Brothers Dairy with his brother, Bud. Bruce was a dairy farmer in Honesdale and also worked for Star Dairy delivering milk. He drove school bus #60 for Wayne Highlands School District and was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Penn State Nittany Lions. Bruce was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Honesdale and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Bruce struggled to recover from the loss of his wife, Raynell, and was heartbroken after her death. He is survived by four children: Thomas W. Stephens and his wife Esther of El Paso, Texas, Beth Stephens of Naples Florida and her companion Jerry Neal, Jot Stephens of Thompson, PA and Kay Bates and her husband Bob of Honesdale; a brother, Bud Stephens and his wife Alice of Honesdale; and eight grandchildren: Katie and Daniel Stephens, Josh and Jenna Stephens, and Brian, Raynell, Carley and Curtis Bates. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Peg Race and her husband, Don. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Pastor Tom Kellam of First Baptist Church of Damascus officiating.
