Please share a memory of Nicholas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nicholas "Nick" Vander Weide passed-away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020. He is survived by his son Joe Vander Weide and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Vander Weide of Equinunk, PA; and by his daughter Cheryl Scott and son-in-law Charles Scott of Bethany, PA. In addition, he is survived by 2 grandchildren, Katie Scott and Dasha Pereda and by his sister Carolyn Bloom, Carlisle, PA. Nick moved to Equinunk, PA 20 years ago after he retired from working as a custodial engineer at an elementary school in Plainsboro, NJ. Prior to that Nick had worked for Schering-Plough for over 20 years as a Veterinary Tech then in the Maintenance Department before that location closed-down in Cream Ridge, NJ. Nick enjoyed antique tractors and in his lifetime he was a member of a least 3 clubs. He didn't care what color the tractor was, he just liked that it was old. He enjoyed talking about farming with anyone who would listen. Growing up on a dairy farm he learned to work hard, which he did his whole life. He enjoyed working with farm animals and going to the county fairs every year. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Vander Weide, his brother Richard Vander Weide, his mother and father, Mary and Joe Vander Weide. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers to make donations to 4-H in honor of his love of farming or to the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11 am at the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bethany, PA. Please remember to wear your mask. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home ,Honesdale,Pa.
