Walter J. Williams,Jr., 80, of Damascus, PA, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes Barre, Pa. He is married to Phyllis Scott Williams. Born in Cochecton, NY he was the son of the late Walter J. and Lola Shook Williams, Sr. Walter served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion in Equinunk and the VFW in Honesdale. Survived by a son, Walter J. Williams III and his wife Rebecca of Damascus; four stepchildren, Darryl Ostrander of Scranton, Daniel Ostrander of Beach Lake, David Ostrander of Scranton and Patricia McGinnis of Bethany; a brother Charles Williams of Beach Lake; two sisters, Lola Crown of Damascus and Edith Bellamy of Mt Cobb; five grandchildren, Roberta Williams, Austin Williams, Gillian Alger, Kenneth Alger, and Amanda Alger; two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Williams and two sisters, Kate Reynolds and Joyce Schmidt. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale. Friends may visit on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
