Pearle (Hinaman) Turner passed from an amazing life of service to glory in heaven on Jan 30th ,2021. Born in 1925 she grew up in Tyler Hill , the daughter of Addie and Fred Hinaman. Pearle was a retired postmaster in Damascus with 30 years of service to the USPS. (When the post office was a little building on the left before the Damascus /Cochecton bridge.) She was a dedicated member of the Damascus Manor United Methodist church , serving there her entire active life. She was a founding member of the Damascus Ambulance Corp and was a proud donor of 13 gallons of blood for the Red Cross. Pearle was the last of 7 children :2 brothers , Frederic and Nelson Hinaman (Marguerite) and 4 sisters, Laura Seipp (Donald), Ruth Swendsen (Ivan) Hazel Hinaman and Nora Shepstone (Jerome). She was married to her beloved husband, Richard Benjaman Turner for 63 wonderful years. She is survived by 2 daughters ; Nancy Hull (Ron) of Endicott, NY and Beverly Whitmore (Howard) of Callicoon , NY , 5 grandchildren , Penny Short of Endwell, NY (James), Wendy Falcon of Lake Ronkonkama, NY (Michael ) Erica Boyd of Cochecton, NY (Vincent), Austin Whitmore of Le Claire, Ia (Abbie) and Noelle Forness of Apex NC ( Cody) and 9 great grandchildren . Also survived by 3 sister-in- laws, Marguerite Hinaman, Doris Swendsen and Alice Turner and many very loving nieces and nephews and their families. Other "dear ones" who predeceased her were an infant great grandchild (Megan Short), brother-in-laws: Elvin Swendsen, Elvin Monington, Don Welles, Sidney Turner and sister-in-laws:Elizabeth Monington, Florence Welles. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Bethany Village in Bethany, PA for their compassionate care and for so many dear family and friends who helped while she lived at home . Her family and church were the most important in her life. She loved to host family gatherings and was a Rummicube champion. She was a strong, truthful and faithful witness to all. Memorial contributions may be made to Damascus Manor United Methodist Church or Damascus Ambulance Corp. both of Damascus, PA Due to the current health crisis, there will be no service at this time. Funeral arangements are entrusted to the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale.
