Obituary of ANNA MAE THOMAS

Born on March 12, 1935 in Nicholson, Pa she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Conrad Thomas. Anna Mae worked for the Western Wayne School District as a secretary for many years. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Waymart and the Laurel Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Anna Mae operated the Cherry Ridge Airport Restaurant and was well noted for her homemade pies. Pilots from several states landed at Cherry Ridge just for a pie made by Anna Mae. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Anna Mae was a very kind, caring, and loving person. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by four children: Sue Kaufman and her husband James of Honesdale, Vicki Gigliotti and her husband Dominick of Waymart, Thomas Clarkson of White Mills, and John Clarkson of White Mills; two sisters, Mary Seamans of Factoryville, Pa and Ruth Petrikovicz of Forest City, six grandchildren: Courtney Kaufman-Heath and her husband Christopher, Carissa Gigliotti and her husband Daniel Haeusser, William Clarkson, Genell Leininger, Elizabeth Clarkson, and Cassie Clarkson; four great grandchildren: Anna Heath, Adrianna Clarkson, Sophia Clarkson and Blaine Leininger; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Snyder and a companion, Chester Siepela. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wayne Woodlands Manor, and Home Health Care Professionals and Hospice for their kind and loving care. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale PA 18431with Rev. Jack Munley officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made in Anna Mae's memory to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale PA 18431 or Wayne-Pike Chapter of the American Red Cross1111 Main Street, Honesdale PA 18431 or the charity of the donor's choice.
