Carl L. Grimm, 96, Bethany, passed away Saturday , March 13, at the Wayne Memorial Hospital Honesdale. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Alyce Bates in 2008. Born in Bethany, son of the late Levine and Mabel Blake Grimm, he was a graduate of Honesdale High School Class of 1942. After graduation he started a construction and excavating business and in the early 1950's he started a dairy farm in Dyberry Township on his family's homestead. He retired from dairy farming in 1975 and started working for Dorsan Construction as a mechanic. He also continued as a heavy equipment operator and excavator in the Honesdale area until his recent illness. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, the Independent Order of Oddfellows of Honesdale, and was a former member of the Beech Grove Grange. His work was his hobby. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Debbie Grimm, Mount Pleasant , Texas; a brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Dorothy Grimm, Waymart; 4 grandchildren: Craig Grimm, Honesdale, Jill Sterner, Columbia, S.C., Ashley Grimm, Mount Pleasant, Texas; and Courtney Grimm, Madison Wisconsin; a great grandson, Gabriel Sterner, Columbia, S.C. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by son David Grimm and a sister, Hazel King. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be a gathering in the Spring for friends and family at a time to be announced. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale.
