Lynita M. Vail, 87, Rileyville died unexpectedly at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton on Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Vail in 1999. Born in Rileyville, daughter of the late Carl and Chloe Brown Eldred she operated a dairy farm with her late husband in Rileyville for many years. She also owned and operated Lynita's Stichery in Rileyville. Lynita was an honorary member of the Wayne County Farm Board and a longtime member of the Cold Springs Ladies Aid. She had served on the Lebanon Township Election Board and was a women's committee person for the Dairyman's League and a longtime member of the Hickory Grange, Rileyville. She attended the Rileyville-Cold Spring Presbyterian CHurch. She is survived by a son Jay, at home; two daughters: Trudy Swendsen, Edmeston,NY and Nancy Meszler and her fiance Jerry Kamosky of Rileyville; seven grandchildren: Samantha Meszler, Franklin Square, NY, Christopher Meszler, Allentown, Angela Swendsen-Williams, Lakewood, Sandra Swendsen, Lakewood, Branden Meszler, Rileyville, Matthew Swendsen, Edmeston, NY, Nicholas Swendsen, Lakewood; 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Juddy Eldred. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa with Rev. Lane Jones officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Interment will be in the East Dyberry Cemetery Honesdale, Pa. Memorial contributions can be made to the Cold Springs-Rileyville Presbyterian Church or a charity of the donor's choice
