Obituary of James D. Totten

James D. Totten, 81 of Carbondale, PA, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Abington Manor, Clarks Summit, PA. He was married to the late Sarah Darling Totten. James and Sarah were married in the Bethany United Methodist Church on November 28, 1959. Born in Luzerne County he was the son of the late John and Helen Smith Kizis. James served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a PSA at Farview State Prison, Waymart. He was also a special Sheriff's Deputy in Lackawanna County. James was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survived by a son, Charles E. Totten of Carbondale; a brother, Edward Kizis and his wife Jean of Corning, NY; a granddaughter, Jennifer; niece and nephew, Jack and Barbara Kizis of Exeter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11:00-1:00 PM Interment will be Tuesday in Bethany Cemetery, Honesdale.
