Robert W. Blum, 81 of Equinunk passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 25, 2021 at home. Born July 19, 1940 on the family farm in Equinunk, he was the son of the late Robert G. Blum and Laverna M. Blum (Ewain) Bob, was always a hardworking man, wearing many different career hats throughout his years. He grew up working on the family farm in Equinunk, after graduation he worked as a car mechanic until going to Connecticut where he learned to weld on submarines. Later, he dedicated his time to running his own excavating business, driving school bus and fuel truck. He proudly served his country with the Pennsylvania National Guard. Bob was always ready to tell you a story about something that happened years ago, or just last week. He loved to talk about memories and had a knack for making others laugh. Bob was a very likeable man, and even through his 11+ year battle with cancer, he always made the nurses and doctors smile. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing baseball and continued enjoying the game as a spectator. He was an antique car enthusiast and enjoyed pulling his vintage John Deere A tractor at fairs. He enjoyed traveling and listening to country music. Above all else, he was most proud of his three children, and their accomplishments. He will be forever loved and remembered. He is survived by his wife the former Shirley J. Hiller of Equinunk, PA and Moncks Corner, SC. He is also survived by his three children, Holly M. Blum (Charleston, SC) Timothy R. Blum (Moncks Corner, SC) and Harmony R. Klinkiewicz and her husband Justin (Pleasant Mount, PA); three sisters, Betty Mills (Equinunk, PA), Mary Minter and her husband Bill (Moncks Corner, SC), Susanne Swartwout and husband Frank (Equinunk, PA); grandchildren, Destiny Scruggs, Benjamin Rasmussen, and Elijah Blum of Charleston, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Blum earlier this year; brother-in-laws: Raymond Mills, Vernon Hiller, Clifford Hiller; sister-in law Lois Hiller; and nephew Dana Mills.
