William Bryan Bortree, 61 died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 9, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Isabel Deering Bortree. William was born in Lookout, PA, he was the son of the late Buell and Jessie Hazen Bortree Sr. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. William worked as a custodian for Wayne Highlands High School. He wrote poetry and was an avid reader. He had a wonderful sense of humor. William was a loving Dad to his daughter and very proud of her accomplishments. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Bryce Ann Bortree a student at Susquehanna University; two brothers, Buell "Junie" Bortree, Jr. of Honesdale and John Robert bortree of Lakewood; two sisters, Diane Finch of Berwick and Virginia Wolfe of Berwick; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell "Bucky", Raymond, and Ronald Joseph Jr; one sister, Bonnie Corcoran. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2001 at 12:00 Noon at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa Friends may visit the funeral home on Sunday, March 13, 2001 from 7:00-9:00 PM and on Monday from 10;00 AM until the time of the service.
