Loretta (Snook/Snookie) O' Dell, 87, of Honesdale, Pa. passed away peacefully on February 18, 2022 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Loretta was born in the Bronx on June 10, 1934 the daughter of the late John and Grace D'Angelo Hillman. She was orphaned shortly after birth and moved to Rockland County, NY where she was raised by her maternal aunt, Amelia Chiarella. Upon Amelia's death Loretta was raised by her cousin, Ann Westbrook. Snook was married to her teenage sweetheart Allan O' Dell for over 66 years and accompanied him during his Army service to Frankfort, Germany. They spent many happy days with friends, Pete and Sheran Booth from Waukesha, Wisconsin. Loretta and Allan had a daughter , Pamela while there. Upon their return to the United States they lived in various places before setttling down in Stony Point, NY where their son Allan was born. Snook worked at Avon Products for a number of years in Suffern, NY. Snookie was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Many good times were had by all at Snookie and Al's lake house at Lake Alden, Pa. Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Allan O' Dell, daughter, Pamela Felter of Florida, son , Allan O' Dell (Laura Sabolik); grandsons Eric Felter of S. Dakota and Justin Felter (Ashley Sawyer) of Florida, Jason(Kristen Dyroff) and Steven O'Dell, both of New York; great grandchildren: Jaxon and Jeremy of Florida, Oliver, Xander, Ziggy, Luna, and Dylan all of New York. Snook is also survived by a niece Mary Consigli Petrovich, Florida, nephew Alexander Grudzinski, Illinois; sister-in-laws/friends Kathleen Jukich of Montana, "roller skating pal";and Joan O'Dell of Florida,"snowmobile buddy"; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Grudzinksi and Grace Consigli. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. She will be missed by all who knew her. A private gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 57 North Franklin St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa.
