Please share a memory of Geraldine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Geraldine "Gerry" Baer, 88, of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2022, at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center.
Born March 18, 1934 at East Stroudsburg, Pa, Gerry was the daughter of the late Malcolm Jones and Florence (Roney) Jones.
She was married to George Baer for 45 years until his passing in 1998.
Gerry started Baer Sport Center with her husband in 1958 selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles, where she was a financial administrator and Notary Public for 24 years culminating in many lifetime friendships.
Gerry was a founding member of the Pleasure Riders Motorcycle Club, Past Worthy Matron of the Honesdale Eastern Star, and singer in the Baercats Country & Western band. She was involved in many charitable events including The American Cancer Motorcycle Run to the Fair, and the annual motorcycle poker run for Multiple Sclerosis.
Gerry enjoyed cruising and traveling with family and friends, including the late Charlie Butera. She visited many places in the United States and the Caribbean. She even sang in an Irish pub while on a trip to Ireland.
Gerry's life revolved around family. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved hosting huge family roast beef dinners. But her greatest passion was spending time with her children, babysitting her grandchildren and taking them to yard sales, and enjoying her four great grandchildren. She looked forward to her future great granddaughter's birth. She was so extremely proud of each and every one her family's accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Baer and her grandson Scott Helferich.
Gerry leaves behind a sister, Marilyn Lositski of Dunmore, daughter Diane (Bob) Helferich, daughter Gail (Jay) Watson, son Duane (Angie) Baer, grandchildren Vanessa (Andy) Bertot, Michael (Macey) Watson, Cyle Baer, Samantha Shelton, Travis Baer, Sierra Shelton, and Jillian Helferich, great grandchildren Kobe White, Gavin White, Elliana Bertot, and Daxton Watson. She is also survived by nieces Virginia (Robert) Munger, Kay (Louis) Hitty, Julie (Allan) Lyons and nephews Dana (Stephanie) Wilson and Don Lositski and many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary's Villa Residence and Ellen Memorial Health Care Center for their wonderful and compassionate care and friendships extended to our mom/grandmother.
