Obituary of John F. Korb
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Frederick Korb, of Honesdale, passed away suddenly in his home on Friday, October 21st. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Korb.
John was a man of simple means, endless love and patience with many, many talents. He saw the value and beauty in everything. He loved his family and made sure to keep them apprised of the weather on the daily. John dedicated his life to helping people through his work as a maintenance worker for Highlights for Children for over 20 years and then serving guests at Woodloch Pines Resort until his retirement. When he wasn't helping people, he could be found at home in his shop, tinkering and fixing things. He most enjoyed bringing new life to old things.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Bonnie, and his children Andrew and fiance Julie of Honesdale, Michael and partner Tegan of Honesdale, and Christina and husband Joseph of Center Valley, along with his six grandchildren, Alexandra, Sophia, Andrea, Maxx, Abigail and Veda Catherine. John also has five surviving siblings Elizabeth Schuman of Ohio, Linda Doyle of Lansdale, Louis Korb and partner Brenda of Lancaster, Walter Korb of Lousianna, and George Korb and his wife Beth of Honesdale, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
John's legacy and memory will live on at his property, aptly named "Poppy's Pond," where he enjoyed spending time with family and fishing with his grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10:00am to noon at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be sent to the Wayne Bank for the John Korb Memorial Fund.
