Karen (Hennig) Menga May 17, 1945-Sept. 21, 2023 Karen went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after succumbing to the effects of a debilitating stroke. Karen was born in Callicoon, NY, to her parents, Arthur Hennig and Doris (Moran) Hennig. She was a 1963 graduate of Narrowsburg Central School. That year, she was named "Girl of the Year" and she was a cheerleader in high school. Karen graduated from Oneonta College with a masters degree in education. She successfully pursued her passion becoming an elementary school teacher. Karen is survived by the following relatives: two sons, Mark (Diane) Menga of Lancaster, Pa and grandson Flynn. Also, son, Matthew Menga. Her 3 siblings, Dawn(Michael) Haramis, Randy (LIly) Hennig and Lori (Mike) Menges. Her sister-in-law, Sue Hennig, and nieces: Valerie and Peri and nephews: Jay, Stephen and Eric. Plus assorted cousins. Beside both her parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Dorothy Hennig and her brother, Bill Hennig. Karen's passions in life included her saving faith in Christ and her love of animals. She was an avid reader, loved antique shopping, tennis, and reserved her strongest love for her family. Visitation will be held September 26, 2023 at 11:00-12:00 Noon in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main St Honesdale, Pa followed by the funeral service at 12:00 Noon. After the service the burial will take place at Damascus Hillside Cemetery. Karen's family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice Center of Scranton for their compassion and professionalism. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Scranton, 511 Morgan Hwy, Scranton, Pa 18508 and/or The Wayne County Public Library 1406 Main St. Honesdale, Pa 8431
