Obituary of Evelyn Massie

Evelyn Holbrook Massie, 94 years old, of Damascus, PA, passed away on July 21, 2024, in Lake Ariel, PA. Evelyn was born in Beaver, Ohio to Charles Holbrook and Cosby Webb on November 2, 1929. She married Floyd Massie on June 21, 1946, in Greenup, Kentucky. Though she worked at many things, the job she most enjoyed was grooming dogs for over 20 years. In her later years, she enjoyed horses. A passion she shared with her grandchildren. Evelyn was one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1955. She found great comfort in the Bible's hope for the future and enjoyed sharing this hope with everyone she met. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Rogers of Waterville, Ohio and Pamela (Fred) Akers of Damascus, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her devoted husband, Floyd. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Julia Ribaudo and Compassionate Care Hospice for their care and kindness. Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, July 27 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2756 Lake Ariel Highways, Honesdale, PA. Burial in Ohio will follow at a later date. Arrangements are attended by Arthur A Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main St., Honesdale.
