Maynard Milton Douglas, 91, of Cold Springs passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Utegg) Douglas who passed away March 17, 2005 and is survived by his second wife, Loretta (Dietz) Bednarz Douglas. Born October 28, 1932 in Endicott, NY he was a son of the late Coe and Helen (Miller) Douglas. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and owned and operated Douglas Farm in Cold Springs, he was also a former bus contractor for the Wayne Highlands School District . Maynard was a member of the Cold Spring-Rileyville Presbyterian Church and served as the treasurer for 25 years. He also was a member of the American Legion of Pleasant Mount and the Equinunk Historical Society. Also surviving are two sons, John and James Douglas, a daughter Nancy Sterck and stepdaughter Donna Corter. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main St., Honesdale, PA 18431. Viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 from 6-8 PM and on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
