Obituary of Stuart George Skinner

Stuart George Skinner, 91, of Honesdale and a resident of Bethany Village passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary S (Strzalka) Skinner who passed away May 22, 2015. Born December 23, 1932 in Honesdale he was a son of the late Kenneth L and Leila (Gregory) Skinner. He was a member of the 75th graduating class of Honesdale High School. For 40 years he was employed at the Katz Factory and then joined the custodial staff at the Western Wayne Middle School, where he worked for 10 years. He was an avid collector of many things including, H.O. railroad trains, beer cans, NASCAR die cast cars and more videos than can be viewed in a lifetime. He worked various jobs at the local dirt tracks including Moc A Tek, Herb Harvey and Penn-Can Speedways. He also enjoyed travel, seeing 48 states and 8 provinces of Canada. Surviving are one son, Steven Skinner and his wife Kitty, a grandson Kevin Skinner all of Yardley; surrogate granddaughter Norah Cliff Candito; and a sister-in-law Joyce Skinner and her family. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Betsy Jo and a brother Kenneth Skinner. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Village and Wayne Memorial Hospice for their dedicated care of Stuart. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are attended by Arthur A Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale, PA.
