Obituary of Michael P Ristics
Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael (Bugman) Peter Ristics was a beloved grandfather, father, and husband during his incredible 74 years of life. He passed away peacefully at 5:03 PM of November 22, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Our dear family and friends will remember Bugman as a witty, playful, intelligent, unwavering and strong-willed man. He doted his beautiful children/grandchildren. His grandchildren/great grandchildren/children couldn't spend a minute with him without him telling them how much he loved them and how proud he was of their success and how proud he was to be a grandfather. One of the many cherished memories that the family will keep alive, is his singing voice and his ability to improvise a song and dance on the spot. Bugman would be found in this kitchen singing and dancing while cooking for his grandbabies sitting around the kitchen island. Bugman also cherished his close friends, Old Bastards and VFW at local bar and restaurant, Callicoon Brewery.
Michael had a fulfilled and blessed life. He was born on March 7, 1950 to two loving parents, Peter and Rosie (Soups) Ristics of Scranton, PA. Michael has four siblings, Annmarie, Tommy, Linda and Cookie. Michael went on to the Airforce and was a Vietnam Veteran and served from 1969-1972.
Once Michael returned from service, he married his beautiful wife, Joanne Ristics in 1974. Michael and his wife went on to have two children, Heather and Jason Ristics. After building a homestead, Michael and Joanne went on to build a successful family business, House Tech Pest Control.
Michael was always the hero and protector of all of his family and we continue to feel his protection and presence forever. We will always feel his presence in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 12-2:00 pm at the Arthur A Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main St., Honesdale with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM.
