Obituary of Marian Scott Bush

Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Marian Scott Bush, went home to heaven on January 4, 2025. Marian was born on December 22, 1940, in Meredith, NY to the late Russell and Eleanor Scott. She grew up on her family’s farm in Abrahamsville, PA and started her education in a one room schoolhouse. She and late husband, Gerald Bush, built their home next to his family farm in Abrahamsville, PA in the late 1960’s. She was fortunate to live a half mile from her best friend, Ada Hoehn, for almost 60 years. Marian went from riding in a horse drawn wagon to becoming the first certified woman bus driver in Wayne County. She cared about all the students who rode the bus, and always had time for a chat. Marian enjoyed gardening and baking. She was an excellent seamstress and passed on her talents as a 4-H leader. She also led cub scouts and taught Sunday School. She was an example of service with annual road clean ups, caroling, and cookie baking at Christmas for all her shut-in neighbors. She appreciated all her neighbors and their thoughtfulness after the passing of her only son, Scott Bush, in 2023. Marian was devoted to Jesus and her family. She leaves a legacy of faith to her daughters: Rev. Sandy Kraft, Jerrilynn Coblentz and Billie Showers, and grandchildren: Marianne Kraft, Stephanie Kraft, Caleb Coblentz, Martina Showers, David Showers, Selah Showers and Lydia Showers. She will be remembered by her brother Donald (Ike) Scott and nephews Adam Lyons and Russell Lyons. She was preceded in death by her brothers Niles and Russell (Buddy) Scott and sister Linda Scott Lyons. Service will be held Saturday, January 11, at 11am at First Baptist Church of Damascus, Rev.
