Obituary of Frederick Sobolak

Frederick "Fred" Sobolak, 81 of Milanville, PA, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, PA. He is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Vaughn of Honesdale. They were married in 1951. Born on July 31, 1930 in Boyd's Mills, he was the son of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Leon Sobolak. Fred served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Boyd's Mills Hunting Club. Fred loved his granddaughters very dearly; they were his greatest joy in life. He is also survived by a son, Gary Sobolak and his wife Nan of Milanville; three granddaughters, Amanda Sobolak of Honesdale, Katie Kingston and her husband Miles of Hershey, PA, and Carrie Sobolak of Milanville; a sister, Agnes Wilcox of Milanville; three nieces, Nancy Howell and her husband Ed of Cherry Ridge, Alice Lassley and her husband John of Beach Lake and Patty Salvadore of Milanville; two nephews, Charlie and Kenneth Krull. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Sobolak; and several brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Cold Spring Chapel with Pastor Mary Bryant officiating.
