Obituary of Marion Lois Fitze

Marion Lois Fitze, 73, of Creamton, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday evening, July 24, 2012, peacefully at home after a lengthy illness, with her daughters at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dorrance Fitze who died in 2003. They were married on October 6, 1957. Born on March 31, 1939 in Starlight, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. Hunt Sr., and the late Merle E. (Quick) Hunt. Lois was a graduate of Preston High School, Class of 1956, and the Empire Beauty School in Binghamton, NY. She was a member of the Clinton Center Baptist Church. Lois worked by her late husband's side, to create the Riverside Farm. Lois was active in helping to operate the family dairy farm where she and Clarence raised their family. She operated "Lois' Beauty Shop" for over 20 years at her home. Formerly, Lois sang in the choir at Aldenville Baptist Church. Lois was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and was an active supporter of the Wayne County 4-H programs. She was also a former member of the Dairyman's League and the 50/50 Club in Belmont. She enjoyed ceramics, cake decorating and was a collector of tea pots, hand bells, and recipes. Above all, Lois' family and her faith were most important to her. She will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters: Bonnie Lane LaTourette and her husband Mark of Torrey, and Amy Sue Theobald and her husband Charles of Creamton; six siblings: Alice Conbeer of Honesdale, Paul Hunt of Starlight, Martha Peck and her husband Ronald of Pleasant Mount, Ramona Howell of Florida, Evelyn Thomas and her husband Larry of South New Milford, and Elmer J. Hunt, Jr. and his wife Sally of Equinunk; eight grandchildren: Theron LaTourette and his wife Chelsea of Milanville, Megan Spaulding and her husband Ryne of Torrey, Ryan, Kristi, and Valeri LaTourette, all of Torrey, Stacey, Becky, and Andy Theobald, all of Creamton; one great-grandson, Caleb Spaulding of Torrey; her mother-in-law: Anna Fitze of Creamton, and her sister-in-law: Sandra Thorpe and her husband John of Waymart; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a son: Lee A. Fitze who died in 2006; and her father-in-law: Dorrance Fitze. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Aldenville Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Gilpin officiating. Friends may visit from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service, for a time of remembrance at the Aldenville Baptist Church. Interment will be Saturday in Clinton Center Cemetery.
