Obituary of Ashley Fair

Please share a memory of Ashley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ashley Marie Fair, 26 of Honesdale died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at home. Born March 7, 1990 in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of Rochelle and Alan Haviland of Honesdale. Ashley, first and foremost, was the kindest, most giving, and selfless human being to walk this earth. She gave to her family and friends endlessly and never expected anything in return. She was a true friend to those she loved and sometimes to those who just needed her. Ashley graduated from Honesdale High School, Class of 2008. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from West Chester University in 2013. She waitressed and bartended at the LongHorn Steakhouse in Downington, Pa while trying to plan her next steps. She wanted a career in helping children. She was an old soul, whose wisdom was beyond the comprehension of most. She will be forever remembered as a free spirit and a loving, caring, and genuinely selfless person. Her selflessness was a testament to her character of gracious love that flowed from her being everywhere she went. Ashley looked forward to the next step in her life. She came home with plans for the future. She is also survived by her sister, Alexandra Nicole Haviland of Rileyville; two brothers, Sgt. Daniel William Fair and wife, Rachel of Camp Pendleton, CA and Brian Douglas Haviland and his fiance Michelle of Pittston; a niece, Madison Grace Haviland (who was the light of Ashley's world) and a nephew Eli Nicholas Collins(who reminded her of how smart and handsome that little man can be); a beloved grandmother, Mary Ann Forrest of Honesdale; a beloved grandfather, Aaron Brant Haviland of Honesdale; an uncle and aunt, David and Melissa Haviland of Equinunk and her two nephews, Bryce and Jorden. She loved family the most. She was amazing and surrounded by the love of amazing people. She was surrounded by close friends near and far. Ashley's friends meant the world to her. Ashley was preceded in death by her grandfather, Russell Moranor; her beloved pop-pop (who passed away recently), David Forrest; grandmother, Linda Haviland and uncle, Timothy Moranor. Because the joy of Ashley's 26 years began on March 7, 1990 that will always be our special day. Ashley was joy where ever she went and that is the guide we will continue our lives by. We are not having a traditional service because everyone that knew Ashley knew she was nothing close to traditional. We will have her "Celebration of Life" in August, 2017, at a date to be determined, with tons of food and really great tunes. Food and music were central themes for Ashley and so it is how we will bring her physical life to a close and move on to her spiritual one. If anyone feels the need to reach out to us, please do so when it feels right for you. With faith and love, our family appreciates all the kindness that has been bestowed upon us. We can feel Ashley in every kindness. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ashley's memory to the charity of the donor's choice; the family also encourages all those who have been touched by Ashley to extend an act of kindness to someone today. Forever in our hearts, fly free little bird. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa 18431.
