And it came to pass that i walked down West St not just as a neighbor that day no so long ago but as a minister to talk with Peg about where she was currently in life and to where she was with her beliefs to be moving on to be with God.
i must confess i never ministered to anyone about to "die" who was so relaxed, so content, so aware, so joyous and so ready to let go of the body...
Go know, by God, i didn't have any ministering at all to do!
It was a new way for us to be together as One Love!
and so it came to me by God that this was the perfect poem to read at Peg's service :
Landlocked in Fur by Tukaram
(written in the 1600s in India &
translated by Daniel Ladinsky in our time )
I was meditating with my cat the other day
and all of a sudden she shouted,
“What happened?”
I knew exactly what she meant, but encouraged
her to say more-feeling that if she got it all out on the table she would sleep better that night.
So I responded, “Tell me more, dear,”
and she soulfully meowed,
“Well, I was mingled with the sky. I was comets
whizzling here and there. I was suns in the heat, hell-I was galaxies.
But now look-I am landlocked in fur.”
To this I said, “I know exactly what
you mean.”
What to say about conversation between mystics?
-------
and so it is that i am i looking forward to more
like minded and divine conversations with Peg!
Namaste, Rev. Glenn of Trees

My sincere condolences in hearing of this loss. While I did not know Peggy personally, she was a dear friend of my mother, Linda. She spoke so fondly of Peg quite often, and it warmed my heart to know that my mother had the blessing of having such a dear connection to another beautiful soul. Peg was a model of strength and perseverance during a difficult time.
May your fond memories comfort you and know that Peg made a difference to many in her life. God bless, and may she rest peacefully.
Sincerely, Chrissy VanDuren (daughter of Linda)

Peg and I were next-door neighbors for many years and shared a common passion for gardening. She could grow more beautiful flowers and tasty herbs in her small yard and flower pots than most people with a big garden.
After her stroke, I was awed by her courage, gratitude, positive attitude, and acceptance. I am sad that, after I moved away in May of 2024, I hadn't seen Peg during the past few months. That makes the sadness of her passing all the more poignant to me. I will miss her, even though I'm not next door any more. Go in peace, dear neighbor.
